Emily Rose Clark
Enthralled by River-dance’s violinist, Emily’s captivation for the viola has only blossomed since. Awarded the Rainer and Doreen Scholarship, Emily studied with Martin Outram at the Royal Academy of Music where she was presented with first-class honours in her Bachelor of Music.
During her time at the Academy, she was selected for the Elton John Global Exchange Programme and worked with Thomas Selditz at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. Under the tutelage of Matthew Jones, she most recently received her Masters in Orchestral Artistry at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as the Draper’s scholar. Emily received further orchestral training through London Symphony Orchestra’s String Experience Scheme, Royal Ballet Sinfonia scheme and is currently a fellow with the Philharmonia. Consequently, she has performed with major orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Hallé and the Birmingham Royal Ballet sinfonia.
Emily has a passion for collaboration which has led to her growing chamber career. She has featured in multiple distinguished string quartets and has won top prizes at the Cavatina String Quartet Competition, Wolfe Wolfinsohn String Quartet Competition and Nina Drucker String Quartet Competition. She has also appeared in performances with the Edinburgh Quartet, within the Cecil Aronowitz Festival, Three Rivers Festival, St Endellion Festival and most recently at the first edition of the Netherlee Chamber Festival alongside members of Lumas Winds.
