About The Festival

Founded in 2026, the Netherlee Chamber Music Festival is based in the Southside of Glasgow, Scotland. With a focus on bringing classical music of the highest quality to Greater Glasgow, the Festival will host accessible concerts across the first weekend of September.

The multi-award winning Lumas Winds, founders and artistic directors, aim to use their experience within both the UK and International chamber music scenes to provide a wide-ranging programme of classical music in intimate settings. Centering around creative collaboration, the Festival will establish a platform to explore popular but under-performed repertoire as well as new music by living composers.

The weekend included outreach work, as Lumas Winds went to visit local schools to help give students the chance to hear high level music making for free. This was further highlighted by the Festival’s family concert, with engaging storytelling and free tickets to young people.

In 2026, the programme included Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf with narrator Millie Montgomery-Smith*; Mozart’s ‘Kegelstatt’ Trio; Janáček’s Mládí; and Gershwin’s An American in Paris as well as works by composer Sally Beamish to celebrate her 70th birthday.

The inaugural Netherlee Chamber Music Festival took place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of September 2026. Lumas Winds were joined by Julian Chan (piano), Emily Rose Clark (viola), Aaron Hartnell-Booth (clarinet), and Millie Montgomery-Smith (narrator).
